I’ll write something here later probably. In the meantime, hi to whoever’s reading this I hope you get a chance to enjoy something kind today :)

What did we do to you?! 😭 /j
Summer, always. I wish it could be summer year-round.
It’s hot outside, the sun is out for longer, and my seasonal depression can go kick rocks. Natural vitamin D is a hell of a drug. Where I am gets humid too, so my asthma isn’t nearly as bad (dry air triggers it).
Cold saps my energy and psyche to the point I’m a shell of myself. I also get sick very easily in the cold weather. I just do not function.
I’ve jokingly been called a lizard but I think I’d genuinely be happy living in a greenhouse/terrarium with a sun lamp, water and a bunch of plants, lol.
Fwiw I hadn’t considered Shen’s gender to begin with, but fair.
I certainly hope you can find it in yourself to be a bit more understanding about kids in the future.
I don’t have kids either but I don’t fault children for having undeveloped brains and being subject to their (hopefully decent) guardians’ decisions, for better or worse.
We all have bad days, but kids don’t always have the skills yet to manage that. Hopefully you can share that kindness with others and they share back with you. /gen
I take it Shen is suspected of being a furry?
The “alt” style helps a lot, actually (ime). I trust metal head-looking dudes over frat boy-looking dudes 1000% but that’s anecdotal
That’s probably the way to go. I’ve tried using .dll-based mods with Proton/Winetricks/etc to little success so having a VM is smart if you’re able.
Lack of external stimulus (compared to during the day) -> negative bias (old survival instincts) -> ample time to ruminate = fun nighttime anxiety 🫠
(Disclaimer: about half of these have been harvested from Lemmy over the course of my time here)
Economical alternative: bake your own treats, or become friends with someone who likes to bake! (We’re happy to share/give away)
“You don’t have to do everything all at once” and “it’s okay to have a meltdown when you get home” helped a lot to be honest
You outed yourself by demonstrating reading comprehension, sorry
This exactly.
I enjoy the level of control I have on my Linux machine but I spend about 40% of my time in CLI.
I recently had to troubleshoot a windows machine, and the lack of control was frustrating but every step for that problem was GUI-centric. Everyday people don’t want to remember commands so they can set up their browser and word processor. They want (to them) simple and straightforward.
To us it’s a low bar, and most of us are from the generations that dreamt of a predominantly tech-literate society, but that’s not reality. We have to meet them where they are, and if they want to learn beyond that then we welcome them in.
I see where you’re coming from but I think OP is wanting to gift the kid’s dad a bonding experience with his son through the toy, specifically.
That is the face of “get mad at me, I dare you”
Is it the anniversary of beanposting or something?
