This is pretty much what I’m afraid of. Even my knowledgeable friends dismissed the implications of a root kit so they could play Helldivers. Like 2 months later and they’re sick of it, and the damage is done. That game was a massive success despite what should have stopped everyone in their tracks.

Yup. NProtect Gameguard. They got called out for it on day one, but then everyone was like “wow this game is good, so never mind!” Arrowhead CEO outright admitted to it but claimed it’s normal and necessary.
To me it’s like if some company wanted to dig through my mail whenever they wanted and defended themselves with “but we won’t do anything malicious! Its to keep you safe!” They can fuck right off with that nonsense.
The helldivers community fucking hates me for pointing this out. Don’t buy helldivers, or any other game packaged with such bullshit.

Yeah that’s a potentially endless discussion right there. I actually think Sekiro was the hardest, even if it’s technically not a souls game. Part of what makes Elden Ring so easy is the number of tools and abilities to use, the summoning ashes, OP spells, and nearly always being able to summon two helper players for tough fights. Melania is so much like fighting Isshin, I think he’s way harder than her, and especially because you have to nail the timing with him. There’s no respeccing, using cheesy spells, or summoning help with that guy. Don’t get me wrong, Elden Ring is a great game, but most of the difficulty is easily overcome by just trying out the other stuff you can use.
I don’t, they are right, I can create my own challenge. It’s not really what I’m annoyed about either, its the whole design by a committee of vocal internet people which results in the same bland shit over and over. Part of what made these games cool is the things that are unique, and often times the most memorable moments are also the most difficult. Seeing From pivot because a bunch of people whined about it is just disappointing really. There was a time where the tag line for Dark Souls was “Prepare to Die”, but come down the line to Elden Ring and you can really feel how they’ve softened that edge up. The DLC feels like they sharpened the blade for its final outing, and people want it dulled immediately. To me that’s boring. Embrace the challenge and what you will remember and be satisfied by is overcoming it.
I likely will run my RL1 guy through it at some point. Man I really hit a nerve with the participation trophies for everyone crowd here, didn’t I?

So you buy it, add on content for a game you already know does not have this option. Its well known at this point none of the other games in the souls / fromsoft series dont have this option. But you still buy it and leave a bad review for it? What? Why? Go buy something else

You want some adult books that arent full of negative crap go read some Terry Pratchett. All my life these are some of the only ones that make me laugh out loud consistently while still having a great plot, characters, and just overall excellent writing in so many ways.

I played around with Skyrim modding more so I may have confused some features with SkyUI. I could have sworn they were made by the same people but now that one is listed as developed by the SkyUI team, and looks like it got a lot more updates.
I think last I played NV I also used Project Nevada which gives a major overhaul of tons of aspects for the game. It’s got a whole lot more than you’re asking for but it was pretty rad.
