Frostbeard@lemmy.worldto Cute Butts@lemmynsfw.com•Dakota Skye (unexpected biography in comments)16·10 days agoSad story. Died at 28 from drugs after living on the streets. From Wikipedia: “During the evening of June 8, 2021, Skye told friends and coworkers that “the FBI and the Mafia were after her [and] she was going to go become a Hells Angel biker”. Everyone she called refused her a place to stay, so she walked from the San Fernando Valley to Los Angeles’ Skid Row. In the early hours of June 9, Skye asked to nap in a stranger’s recreational vehicle; she was seen smoking something before lying on the man’s couch. A short time later she was discovered deceased there,[2] at 652 Moulton Avenue.[14]”

The metric for complaints and outright hostile customer treatment from Tesla is far larger for any competitor. Even taking into account how many cara they sell. I tries an model 3 and a Y and they did not feel superior to the Kia EV6, Mustang eMach, Hyundai iOniq 5 or tbe ID4, and I did not even look at Chinese cars, or what you call premium from MB, BMW or Audi. I am looking forward to the Mazda e6 and the Ioniq 9 tbh. I have had a Mazda6 2.2L estate for years as a second car and have been satisfied with the performance.

I had one guy in the late 90s at my HS who made a program that copied itself onto every directory on the computer at startup. It was a .com file and if you ran it it would use the PC speakers to play a tone increasing in volume and pitch until it was unbearable. You had to do a hard boot to end it.
I also remember the Form virus that made the PC speakers make a sound each time you pressed a key. Can’t remember if it did anything else.

I also remember stranding in Ironforge begging for someone with the key to Upper Blackrock Spire to unlock it. Man that key was hard to get, and the gems did not even have a 100% droprate
Frostbeard@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What are some good examples of "Where the fuck do you go" kind of games?English4·15 days agoLots of the vanilla WoW instances was like that. Often the way to the entrance was populated by the same level elites as the dungeon so you had to run a gauntlet just to get in.
The Deadmines and Uldaman comes to mind. And since you spawned at the entrance you had to dodge and sneak past patrols avoided on the run. Gnomereagan and Maraudon and parts of Dire Maul was very maze like if my memory serves me right

This is one (of many) reasons why Europe won’t import any of your chicken.

EEA members are obliged to adopt as default in national legislation, but have the option to decline, but it often comes with consequences.
There are some EFTA (Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Iceland) deal with the EU but no idea how that works.
Edit: But you are correct, Switzerland do follow most EU regulations.

Many craft and trade people in Norway have embraced the Volkswagen Buzz.
Mine hated magpies. First time we took him to my mothers house I heard some miaus smd found him on a rock in the middle of a little brook next to the house being mobbed by three magpies. And I had to rescue him. A little while later I saw the setup. One magpie was limping along being tracked by the cat. The second the cat jumped in the rock the other two immediately started mobbing him and the “wounded” would join in.
After that magpies were an arch enemy. A few years later I sat on my own porch, and this magpie was hopping around for probably 20-30 minutes when suddenly my fur missile came out if a bush next to the porch. He had bided his time and actually got both his paws all around the magpie who started pecking his head. Think he was as surprised as the magpie as he actually let it go. (To my relief as I think he would have lost an eye)
I saw that the magpies had learned and was more wary when they spotted him.
I can smell your fear Jon…

Also jokingly called the “Nordic orange” because of its high content of vitamin C.
I forgot to mention that we so add a carrot and milk to make it more orange puree
Frostbeard@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Lemmy users across the world, what is your favourite local dish ?8·2 months agoHmmm. I will extend it to anything Norwegian. “Pinnekjøtt” usually a Christmas dish.
Cured (salted and/or smoked) sheep ribs. (Often lamb)
The ribs are then separated to individual ribs.
You water it for 16 hours, changing the water once. Or they will be too salty. Then you steam them until the meat releases from the bones (3ish hours)
Serves with mashed swedes, sausage, and potatoes, using the water as a sort of gravy (it’s full of fat)

Second. It’s a private company that can choose its customers because capitalism.
Third. The minister of defence has publicly stated that Norways obligations will be met.
Fourth. I have no idea how often the US Navy has to bunker in Norwegian ports, but. I suspect it’s not that often. The subs dont need fuel and I think they are the most frequent visitors.
Fifth. You can suck Trumps dick and fondling his balls while paying him money to do so and he would still “forget” if remembering is in any way an inconvenient for him.
Sixt. Fuck Trump, Fuck the US, and fuck the US Navy
Think he refers to rakfisk. Lutefisk is never buried. And rakfisk is fermented like kimshi, and definitely not eaten out of nostalgia. It’s videly popular in Norway.
