Reddit filters also increased in thier filtering, in response subs also did the same. so a user is facing against 2 forms moderation, one from reddit proper to catch the general"botting" which is well known to be biased. and the 2nd subreddit filtering, some subs have high filtering methods/crowd control.

i think users are only safe in niche subs that have low or no moderation in general.

its not really speculation that moderation, appeals are done by AI, they are. they literally send people an AI response for people who got permabanned/

they will keep around right wing propaganda accounts around to generate “content” and have everything just browsing the site. they will keep around some of the large subs for the traffic they produce. eventually users will get low enough they will allow even more bots into the site, the ones they approve that is.

there are ways to bypass it temporarily, but those people are usually the ones that have links generating income for the user, so they can afford to pay for the services to hide/change thier IP, DEVICES, and have proxies.

some have been appealing for months. one of my last acct that was hit/flagged in feb, got shadowbanned last month, because a comment removal and sudden switch to a fork of FIREFOX caused them to “change my password and then became a shadowbanned”

VPN is an autoban by reddit, even if they catch you immediately, much like other SOCIAL media platforms doing the same. they want to know your location to sell your data. they go after more sophisticated proxies too, if they are overused though. i think the only ones that can evade them is the proxies that change ip frequently, combined with anti-detection browsers and new devices.

also creating new accounts if you were shadowbanned immediately they can detect your new accounts and shadowban it, they do it by using AI to look for the same patterns, same IP, DEVICE, BROWSER , and posting behaviour.

the only way is if you have a NEW IP, and DEVICE, and a different browser. then they look for your behaviour on the site: how long you are scrolling or randomly clicking to evade thier filters, your posting, upvotes, even your writing style.

more than half, i think only admins listen, if a MOD contacts them to appeal on your behalf, otherwise its just 50/50.

they have been banning people the same way to, early in the year, they were banning peoples multiple accounts all at once. they were finding old accounts that may have participated in one or more subs your other accounts you were banned in, also another reason is they were linking different strangers account as spam, so it was a bulk spam. and they are using AI to indiscriminately doing it.

with a permaban you maybe able to temporarily avoid being filtered, if you dont participate in a sub you were previously banned int. but if you were shadownban, its much harder to get around that.
