I have a friend who uses it religiously, and I found out they would sometimes sneak pictures of people around them, including me. Totally uncool behavior!

You thought Lemmy’s co-founder and main developer is a bot? Lmao
The admins are principled Marxists so they wouldn’t sell out or concede without a fight.

The existence of lemmy.world which you’re part of, proves that lemmy tolerates right-wing instances if you ask me.
Make use of the decentralized nature of lemmy, the devs won’t knock at your door for creating or posting on right-wing instances.

Tatar_Nobility@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do you think Lemmy hasn't beat reddit yet?0·3 years agoHey I know you have “drama” with them but the PrivacyGuides community is solely centered around the concept of technical privacy, non-contextualized, and is agnostic to every other topuc. They’ve criticized (if not attacked) many FOSS projects but only from the lens of privacy and so I would understand their sometimes odd behavior. That being said, it would be unbiased of you to accuse them with such conspiracy theories.
On the other hand, I’m perplexed by the fact that they prominently use the spyware crap that Reddit is for communications.

I’m still researching what OS will be ideal for me when in the close future and it seems until now it’s ubuntu (or kubuntu), but I will make sure removing snap is the first thing to do.
