Well, no I’m not. You’re right. I miscalculated how much data was needed for video streaming. Even multiple simultaneous hi-res streams should stream fine with 1GbE.

But as an abstracted idea, you might want high throughput within your LAN for some reaosn, even if an ISP doesn’t offer 10Gbps to your house.

E.g., NAS on my LAN, especially for streaming high res video to devices in my house.

I use xBrowserSync for bookmark syncing. The code hasnt been touched in a few years but it still works great. Set it and forget it. There’s also an android app - not sure about ios.

But it doesnt do browser tabs - just bookmarks.

I’ve heard numerous recommendations of both sabre and radicale, but ive never used them. I use baikal for both contacts and calendars. It’s simple and it works well.

I like it. It feels cleaner, simpler, less busy to me.

The only problem I’ve had with Bitwarden is their recent UI retool which ended up causing a huge ruckus among the user base to the point where they gave an option to switch back.

I think the new UI is pretty terrible. I didn’t know until you mentioned it, irmadlad@lemmy.world, that there was an option to revert. I can’t find it in the settings - how does one revert to the prior UI?

That suggests we should be intolerant of intolerance, which is an oxymoron.

That works for me, for a while. I also auto-restart the invidious container stack hourly, per their recommendation. But sooner or later it fails, and usually the fix is to recreate a token. It only takes a minute, but it’s a hassle to do often.

I don’t have any experience with Atuin, but I use and love hstr for similar features.

I wasn’t able to make that work, but I don’t think it was trying to solve the problem I’m having, anyway. That procedure was to add self signed SSL certificate to Android, but my certificate is neither self-signed nor an SSL cert. At least I think not - I find certs very confusing. The cert I’m trying to work with is an mTLS cert, a client cert. It’s not used to establish a secure SSL connections, it’s used to verify that I (the person with the cert) and authorized to use the app.

Additionally, I’m able to successfully install the cert into Android, but the problem is that it seems to be ignored. The mTLS cert is installed in GrapheneOS’s “VPN & App User Certificate” section, and my CA cert is installed in the “CA Certificate” section. Vanadium, Fennec, and Mull browsers just aren’t using them. :(

I tried to install my client cert in “CA Certificate” but the certificate manager app in GrapheneOS said that it was the wrong kind of cert to be used in “CA Certificate”. It is, after all, a client cert, not a CA cert.

Same here. I get slightly frustrated by seeing the same post on multiple instances, but I understand why people do it.

When I want to interact with a post, I start with the one that has more responses, and maybe never even get to the others.

I use the d.rymcg.tech framework. It’s a little over my head, but the framework makes it pretty easy to use all the apps. It’s a bit tricky to add new apps to the framework, but it’s fun and all the source is there to learn from and the developer is really nice and really helpful.

Thirded. I self-host it (actually the Vaultwarden fork) and use it on desktop browsers, as a desktop app, and as and Android app (F-Droid). I also store secure notes in it (e.g. end of life instructions for my partner). Very powerful and versatile, and AFAICT, secure.

I use Solokeys. Didn’t know they were defunct. I just bought another from then a month or so ago. I use it for MFA, ssh, and sudo, and I’m trying to config Kubuntu login screen to require solokey but no luck yet.

I like solokeys, but the one I recently bought has NFC and, technically, my pixel7 running GraphenreOS can detect the device, but it doesn’t work. Many people reported this issue. In my experience, NFC is non-functional.
