Esperanto is more like Common. A language that everyone speaks, more or less, can only be something from an imperialist power or a neutral ground created for that.

Oooh I totally forgot that I did play with MS Paint! I invented cities, countries, or I just did what you described. Fun times!

Zloubida@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's the point of constitutional monarchies? Why even keep the monarchy in place if they aren't even doing anything?3·3 days agoI like this image. I’m a citizen of a small monarchy, and I used to be a staunch republican (in the European sense). I’m still not a big fan of the monarchy, but it’s a way to help conservatives feel secure while being, in fine, more open than the neighboring republics. But we don’t have a House of Lords or any nobility beside the reigning immediate family, so that helps accepting the monarchy.
It felt like that.😅
But the truth is that the stress wounded my intestines.
Oh I had my first one earlier than that!

Criticising those who criticise liberals for acting morally superior and not taking action to feel morally superior and not have to take action to feel morally superior and not have to take action to feel morally superior and not have to take action.
For the, the main source of proto-fascism is nationalism. The form of governement is secondary.
I am a citizen of two countries: a republic and a monarchy. Both are advanced European liberal democracies.
One has a strong far right, refuse to acknowledge its own regional languages because of the threat they pose to the national unity and has a very strong head of state that can decide a lot of things alone, without being responsible before the Parliament.
The other has almost no far right, a very numerous immigrated population, recognizes three national languages but officially communicates in two other languages spoken by its two biggest immigrated communities, has a weak head of state and a strong Parliament.
Which one is the most “proto-fascist”? The first.
Which one is a monarchy? The second.

Which version do you use with which OS? As a GNOME user I don’t need it, but I’m pretty sure Thunderbird has a system tray.
Thunderbird is great. But if you don’t like it only because of Mozilla (the interface is customizable so that’s not an argument) there is a fork which does almost everything like Thunderbird, is slightly better on some points, and slightly worse on some others, called Betterbird. It has in my point of view no interesting point, but it’s not Mozilla.
Have kids and an incontinent cat, and despair.
My favourite comment is similar: the Firefox/Windows copypasta.
Government welfare programs are centrist, they were established in my country by a left-right alliance after the WWII… Jesus advocated something more radical : if you have something that you don’t need, it’s not yours anymore, it’s something you have to give to people who need what you have. It’s basically the end of private property, and not only of the means of production.
But no, he was not violent, that’s true. Is violence a leftist marker? I don’t think so.
